Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Governance Strategist to join our team in the United Kingdom. As a key member of our Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Control Management Governance team, you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for GMNS.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in operational risk management and a strong understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities. They will also possess excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior BU/tech counterparts.

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, paid parental leave, career development opportunities, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop execution plans for operational risk management within the business unit (BU), including BU-specific guidelines, project plans, etc.
  • Track and identify issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds.
  • Implement the operational risk governance frameworks.
  • Create, communicate, and ensure understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.
  • 6+ Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in process governance.
