Production Cell Supervisor

Direct Reports:

  • Team Leader, Assemblers

Role Overview:

In collaboration with the Production Manager and Planner, assume responsibility for orchestrating workflow within the designated cell area. Provide effective leadership to team members, ensuring adherence to manufacturing performance metrics aligned with SQCDP standards. Facilitate necessary training and actively oversee team performance in relation to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily leadership, guidance, and coaching to cell personnel.
  • Inspire team members to achieve cell goals and production milestones.
  • Document, assess, and report on production metrics as part of SQCDP evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety protocols.
  • Assist in analyzing production data to identify root causes of issues and proactively contribute to solutions.
  • Identify training needs based on role requirements and maintain the skill matrix.
  • Act as the 5S Champion and Continuous Improvement lead for the cell.
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings (DSUMs) to ensure SQCDP targets are met.
  • Perform regular personnel development reviews with direct reports.
  • Support initial scrap analysis processes.
  • Justify overtime in accordance with departmental budget and Production Manager directives.
  • Maintain an accurate time attendance system for the cell, ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Champion problem-solving initiatives within the cell.
  • Collaborate with Operations management as a vital part of the planning process.
  • Act as a deputy for the Production Manager when required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Strive to maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Take ownership of non-conforming products until a material review board decision is reached.
  • Complete any other reasonable requests from the role manager or Directors.
  • Be flexible and provide support beyond normal job functions during periods of reduced staffing to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Occasionally undertake ad hoc duties, including training and tasks associated with other departments.

Authority Limits:

  • Authorize purchase orders in line with financial guidelines.
  • Refrain from altering Business Management System processes without formal approval, while being encouraged to make recommendations.

Company Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply the Business Management System relevant to the role.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
  • Report any issues that may impact the business to management, regardless of perceived significance.
  • Execute all duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures as well as the Business Management System requirements.
