Job Summary

The Cell Leader will be responsible for leading a team of production employees in a manufacturing cell environment. This role will require strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members to achieve cell objectives and production targets.
  • Monitor and record production performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Assist with the analysis of production data to identify root causes of problems and implement solutions.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge.
  • Act as a champion for 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives in the cell.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to review progress and discuss challenges.
  • Conduct regular personnel development reviews with team members.
  • Provide first-line support for scrap analysis and problem-solving exercises.
  • Justify overtime working in line with department budget and Production Manager.
  • Ensure accurate time attendance records and relevant paperwork.
  • Champion cell-contained problem-solving exercises and liaise with Operations management as part of the planning process.
  • Deputize for the Production Manager when required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain a tidy working environment.
  • Own non-conforming product to the point of material review board decision.
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests made by the role manager or Directors.
  • Be flexible and provide support outside of normal tasks to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Take on ad-hoc duties, including training, department-associated tasks, and brief secondments to other departments.

Limitations of Fiscal/Management Authority

  • Sign off purchase orders in line with financial guidelines.
  • Not permitted to change Business Management System processes, procedures, and guidelines without formal approval, but expected to make recommendations.

Standard Company Responsibilities

  • Understand the Business Management System and its application to the role.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Bring to the attention of the manager any issues that could potentially affect the business.
  • Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures, and the Business Management System.
