Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Hemel Hempstead. This role offers a unique two-year pathway to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with opportunities for professional development and growth.
About the Position
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced team to support students with autism and complex educational needs. You will begin as a Teaching Assistant, gradually taking on teaching responsibilities part-time, and by year two, you will work as an unqualified teacher and enroll in a teaching apprenticeship to achieve QTS.
Responsibilities
- Support students in class as a TA/tutor while beginning to take on teaching responsibilities part-time
- Work as an unqualified teacher alongside enrolment in a teacher apprenticeship to gain QTS
- Individualized support and training from a skilled team throughout the progression
Requirements
- Must hold a degree; an education-related subject is preferred
- Demonstrated interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a commitment to pursuing teaching
- Comfortable with behaviour management strategies and open to physical intervention when necessary
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £20,000 - £24,000 per annum, dependent on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive individualized support and training from a skilled team throughout your progression.
