Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Community Vaccinator to join our expanding immunisation team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering the School Aged Immunisation Programme in Primary, Secondary, and Independent Schools, as well as other community venues.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering immunisations to school-aged children in a variety of settings, including schools and community venues.
  • Working collaboratively with schools, parents, and other healthcare professionals to promote immunisation uptake and address any concerns or barriers to vaccination.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the immunisation programme.
  • Providing education and support to parents and carers on the importance of immunisation and how to access vaccination services.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in immunisation and public health.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered clinician qualification, such as a nurse or midwife.
  • Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of National and Local policies, especially those relating to school health nursing and immunisations for school-aged children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to the delivery of the service, with the ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
