We are seeking an experienced SEN Education Consultant to join our team in Staffordshire.

Job Description

This role involves providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred to us by local authorities and schools.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring, with the goal of transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners.

A competitive salary of £25-30 per hour is offered, making this a great opportunity for qualified SEN / SEND teachers looking to work via 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, and holistic manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Planning each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
  2. Providing the young person with engaging sessions which meet their needs and advance their educational and social-emotional journey
  3. Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on the young person's progress
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other Additional Educational Needs
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
  • Two professional references
