We are seeking a dedicated SEN Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students exhibiting challenging behaviour in our innovative primary school in Chiswick.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to create a structured environment where students can thrive academically and socially.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN specialists to develop personalised behaviour plans ensuring a comprehensive approach to behavioural challenges.
  • Monitor and assess student behaviour providing feedback to teachers and parents about progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide one-on-one support during lessons and activities to help students navigate social situations and reinforce positive behaviours.
  • Assist in delivering engaging lessons that promote academic achievement and appropriate social interactions.
  • Develop trusting relationships with students helping them feel secure and understood.
  • Facilitate small group sessions focused on social skills and emotional regulation to foster community and belonging.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in behaviour management and special education.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to discuss student progress and behaviour strategies ensuring consistency across home and school.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children exhibiting challenging behaviours is preferred along with familiarity with various behaviour management techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive resilient approach are essential for building rapport with students staff and families.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive educational environment that celebrates diversity.
  • Patience empathy and a genuine passion for helping students overcome learning barriers are vital.
  • A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is required for the safety of students.

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
