Job Opportunity at Teach Plus in Ealing:
We are looking for a Primary School SEN Support Assistant to support the education of two children in Year 1 with complex needs. The successful candidate will be part of a large, inclusive school community that prioritizes staff well-being and pupil happiness.
The role involves providing individualized support to the children, implementing their EHCPs, and employing positive behaviour management techniques. The ideal candidate will have recent experience supporting SEN children in a school setting, understanding of SEN strategies and interventions, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support two children with complex needs in Year 1, ensuring their physical, emotional, and academic development.
- Implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for each child.
- Use positive behaviour management techniques to support children in managing challenging behaviours.
- Encourage participation in classroom and school activities, promoting social interaction and inclusion.
- Maintain detailed records of the children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Establish positive relationships as a trusted adult, supporting the emotional well-being of the children.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Recent experience supporting Key Stage 1 children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) needs, including complex needs in a school setting.
- Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions, including behaviour management techniques.
- A strong work ethic and commitment until the end of the academic year.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate with the Update Service.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 per annum
