Lead Technical Strategist

We are seeking a Lead Technical Strategist to join our team at itsu. As a key member of our Food Safety Department, you will be responsible for leading our technical strategy and ensuring the highest quality and safest ingredients across our estate.

The estimated salary for this role is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a full-time position based in the UK.

You will work closely with the Buying Department and wider business to optimise our ingredient range, driving quality, sustainability, and commercial improvements. You will also manage the technical relationship with our food suppliers/franchise partners to ensure the safety, quality, and legality of all itsu ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement itsu's Technical Strategy
  • Manage technical reporting and risk management
  • Oversee product and supplier relationships
  • Maintain specifications and finished product administration
  • Work on projects, NPD, and innovation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a Technical Function within the food industry
  • Expertise in working with different food categories and strong knowledge of UK food regulations
  • Technical strategy development and implementation experience
  • Preferably qualified to a relevant Food Science or Technology degree standard or equivalent
  • Internal and external audit experience and knowledge of food safety systems
