About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and quick-thinking individual to fill the position of Workshop Controller at Arnold Clark. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver exceptional productivity and maintain a high standard of first-time repairs in a clean, safe, and professional workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to ensure they meet productivity and quality targets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve workshop efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to achieve business objectives and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
  • Monitor and control workshop inventory, ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal levels.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a motor industry management role, preferably in a similar position.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure and making quick decisions when necessary.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Working Hours

Full-time: Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5.30pm; Friday, 8am to 4.30pm (30-minute lunch). Alternate Saturdays, 8am to 12pm.
