Operations Officer

Job Purpose
The Scottish Prison Service is seeking a skilled Operations Officer to join their team at HMP Kilmarnock. As an Operations Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining custody and order within the prison, while also facilitating opportunities for offenders to engage in education and training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain custody and order within the prison, ensuring the safety and security of staff, offenders, and visitors.
- Facilitate opportunities for offenders to engage in education and training programs, promoting their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of the prison, including the Front of House, Visits, Electronic Control Room, Patrol, and Prisoner Reception.
- Provide safe and secure escorting of offenders, both within the prison and externally, as directed by management.
- Manage the movement of offenders between residential accommodation and other areas of the prison, such as education, health centre, visit room, and offender work areas.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and safety, while promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders into society.

They will also possess a commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to learn and grow with the Scottish Prison Service.
