About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our Early Child Development pathway, you will play a vital role in supporting the assessment and intervention of young children with emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of psychological services to children and families, under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
  • Undertake psychological screening, assessment, and interventions with children and their parents/carers, presenting with a range of emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Work independently to an appropriate level, under supervision and abiding by the professional guidelines and code of conduct for registered clinical psychologists.
  • Support research activity, including audit, service evaluation, literature reviews, and research as required and in agreement with the Clinical Psychology Lead and managers of the service.
Person Specification
  • Bachelor Degree at Honours level, giving eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Further postgraduate training in relevant area of professional psychology, health and social care practice, and/or research design and analysis.
  • Experience in working with children, young people, and families.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with emotional and mental health difficulties, in a clinical or healthcare environment and/or community-based setting.
  • High standard of report writing.
  • Ability to travel and work in a variety of locations, e.g. clinic base, schools, home visits.
