Job Description

The University of Exeter is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead for the Psychological Professions Network South West Programme. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) post available from November 1st to March 31st, 2025, to cover a maternity leave in the Clinical Education Development department within the Psychology faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor the Psychological Professions Network for the South West (PPN-SW) programme, including operational administration, communication strategies, and quality management.
  • Work with the PPN-SW co-chairs, administrator, and graduate research assistant to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the PPN-SW network in accordance with relevant NHS policy and the faculty's education strategy.
  • Contribute to the overall management of the PPN-SW network and develop innovative clinical engagement and participation practices across the psychological professions community in the SW region.
  • Oversee the management of KPIs outlined for the PPN-SW project, including communication strategy and liaison with stakeholders.
  • Ensure good governance of the PPN-SW project and develop reporting systems for ensuring the quality of the project.
  • Organize and deliver PPN-SW training and ensure effective links between local, regional, and national agendas.
  • Support the operational development and sustainability of PPN-SW project objectives.
Requirements
  • Depth or breadth of specialist knowledge in Psychological Professions, demonstrated by a doctorate-level training or equivalent awareness.
  • In-depth understanding of own clinical specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
  • Understanding of NHS and/or other clinical services and the development of workforce within these.
  • Consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline.
  • Extensive experience of clinical practice and service settings in relation to the relevant area.
  • Proven leadership qualities in an HE/Clinical/NHSE environment.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills in NHS and non-NHS organisations across a range of levels and disciplines.
