Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Training and Competence Lead to join our team at Twenty84. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development and enhancement of our Training and Competence function, ensuring it meets both regulatory requirements and our business's growth ambitions.

About the Role:

As the Training and Competence Lead, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, holding key responsibilities for the operational running and strategic development of the Training and Competence function. You will manage and mentor a team comprising a Training and Competence Manager and two Training and Competence Supervisors, overseeing the competence and development of 26 highly experienced financial advisers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive Training and Competence strategy, ensuring it aligns with our business's growth objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Lead and support your team of Training and Competence professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Adviser Supervision: Directly oversee a portion of the adviser team, ensuring they meet competence standards through regular assessments and personalized development plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a robust Training and Competence framework that aligns with regulatory requirements, overseeing Continuing Professional Development records, fit and proper assessments, and adviser certification.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture strong working relationships with advisers and support staff, balancing commercial needs with regulatory responsibilities.
  • Integration: Strategically manage the integration of newly acquired businesses and advisers, ensuring a seamless transition and adherence to our company standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years in a Training and Competence management role within a financial services business, with a proven track record of strategic Training and Competence development.
  • Qualifications: Level 4 qualification from the Chartered Institute of Insurance or equivalent is essential; Level 6 is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and the UK financial conduct regulatory framework.
