This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of fusion energy as a Graduate Mechanical/Design Engineer at Culham Centre for Fusion Energy. The role involves a range of engineering tasks designed to provide experience and familiarization with staff, methods, practices, and programs of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop both general work-related skills and professional qualifications through 80% of working time
  • Dedicate 20% of working time to graduate training and development
  • Work towards building knowledge and skills continuously

Requirements:
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

Additional Responsibilities:
Support the repair and recovery of existing equipment by analyzing faults, determining corrective action, and organizing and overseeing corrective action. Ensure appropriate design files are updated and spare stock replenished. Report work and results back to customers in a project-defined way.
