Mechanical Engineer Position

Culham Centre for Fusion Energy is seeking a Graduate Mechanical/Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of fusion energy. This position involves a variety of engineering tasks designed to provide experience and familiarization with staff, methods, practices, and programs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- System analysis and design review
- Procurement and commissioning of equipment
- Operational analysis and support for repair and recovery of existing equipment
- Reporting work and results back to customers
- Planning and coordinating work programs and projects
- Supporting business development through generating work proposals and delivering conference presentations
Qualifications and Requirements:
A recognized suitable engineering degree and good understanding of engineering principles are essential requirements for this position.
Additional Information:
As a Graduate Mechanical/Design Engineer, you may be required to enter radioactive controlled areas to support diagnosis and execution of corrective action on JET equipment. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided in advance. Engineers may also be requested to be on call to support operations or travel to support UKAEA project responsibilities.
