About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic team working on high-value projects, collaborating with industry partners and contributing to the growth of HTS magnet technology. Your expertise will be essential in developing strategies for leveraging the economic case for this technology and establishing a superconducting magnets skills pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive the development of fusion energy by leading a team of Magnet Development Engineers.
  2. Collaborate with industry partners to develop strategies for exploiting existing and future UKAEA magnet test facilities.
  3. Leverage the economic case for HTS magnet technology and establish a superconducting magnets skills pipeline through recruitment and development.
  4. Provide technical and programmatic leadership for high-value projects.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PhD or equivalent level of experience.
  • Experience in building and leading technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships internally, externally and in a multinational community.
  • Experience line managing and coaching technical individuals.
  • Commercial awareness and evidence of delivering innovative solutions.
