The Defence and Security team at Turner & Townsend is growing, and we are seeking two individuals to join our team as Casework Specialists.

This role requires vetting to an appropriate level to work with sensitive material. You will be part of a small team processing clearance and compliance documentation, conducting pre-vetting checks, and supporting ongoing aftercare.

You will manage your own caseload, act as an initial point of contact, and maintain records to ensure statutory obligations are met. The role entails routine liaison with the HR team, commission resourcing leads, and external agencies.

The salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process BPSS checks and enable formal security vetting for staff employed by Turner & Townsend.
  • Take ownership of individual cases, ensuring all casework and queries are resolved accurately and escalating to the Vetting Team Manager when necessary.
  • Manage your own caseload and respond to direction, including changes in priorities as notified by the Vetting Team Manager.
  • Check and verify references.
  • Create and check vetting packs prior to submission for commissions where independent vetting is mandatory.
  • Support and advise commission resourcing teams on personnel security matters.
  • Assist in wider security-related duties (office-based).

Qualifications

  • All BPSS checks are correctly completed and documented prior to being put forward for authorisation.
  • Monthly quality targets will be set incrementally, working up to an acceptable level to enable authorisation for independent authorisation.
  • All cases are fully logged and recorded with updates complete within one working day of the activity.

Requirements

  • Must pass both Baseline Personnel Security Standard check and UKSV SC clearance – these will be conducted during the probation period and are mandatory for this role.

  • Organised and capable of working independently.
  • MS Office 365 proficient.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to quickly develop and maintain good working relationships with key supporting staff.
  • Able to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels.
