The next few years will be an exciting time for their Fleet Procurement Team as they introduce new trains with advanced technology. Successfully delivering this new fleet is crucial to their Business Plan.

This opportunity allows you to join the Fleet Procurement Team as a Rail Procurement Project Manager.

About the Role

You will manage the delivery of Manufacture and Supply Agreements on behalf of the business, ensuring the new fleet meets stakeholder requirements and is delivered on schedule and budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Effective management of program elements to ensure timely delivery;
  • Ensuring contract outputs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Establishing governance structures for control and decision-making;
  • Creating a results-oriented culture that motivates teams and satisfies stakeholders;
  • Proactively managing program constraints (budget, risk, resources, schedule, and environment);
  • Adhering to PPM standards and framework for consistency and comparable reporting;
  • Handing over projects to BAU safely;
  • Owning and leading company engagement with manufacturers on unit design, build, and acceptance;
  • Ensuring requirements are addressed through design reviews;
  • Engaging with staff and customers throughout the design process;

Requirements

To succeed as a Rail Procurement Project Manager, you will need:

  • Experience working with train manufacturers or in a similar field;
  • Program and project management skills, including stakeholder management and communication at various levels;
  • Ability to challenge and influence decision-making, negotiate outcomes, and manage external suppliers;
  • Financial management and control expertise;
  • Risk management capabilities;
  • Leadership and team management skills.
