We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to join our team at Absolutely Recruitment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Finance Department, including managing communications, maintaining the purchase ledger, and processing accounts payable invoices and expenses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Finance Department, including managing communications and sorting mail.
  • Maintain and manage the purchase ledger, raise purchase order requests, and reconcile and control creditors.
  • Manage petty cash floats, including paying out, analyzing, reconciling, and posting.
  • Set up and maintain filing systems, both electronic and manual.
  • Provide training and support to Regional Treasurers in respect of accounting software and financial information.
  • Produce departmental budgets and calculate year-end variance reports.
  • Coordinate and administer company credit cards, including setting up, monitoring expenditure, and analyzing card expenditure.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and international money transfers.
  • Generate correspondence as required, including obtaining authorization and undertaking distribution.
  • Update information on the cash flow report as necessary.
  • Carry out relevant research and assist the Head of Finance in producing management reports.
Requirements and Skills:
  • GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a general accounts environment.
  • Familiarity with general accountancy packages.
  • Microsoft Office trained in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel to intermediate level.
  • Working knowledge of office databases.
  • Familiarity with audit requirements.
Desirable:
  • AAT qualified or commitment to ongoing study.
  • Understanding of trade unions and their structures.
  • Experience of working for a not-for-profit membership organization.
