### Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Director to join our team at Barclays. As a key member of our Risk Function, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.
### Key Responsibilities
* Develop strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes.
* Manage the risk department, including oversight of risk colleagues and their performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.
* Foster strong relationships with risk stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third-party services.
* Adhere to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.
### Assistant Vice President Expectations
As an Assistant Vice President, you will be expected to consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues. You will also identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda. Additionally, you will take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done. You will collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy. You will engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practices (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.) to solve problems creatively and effectively. You will communicate complex information, influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes, and demonstrate the Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship – our moral compass, helping us do what we believe is right. You will also demonstrate the Barclays Mindset – to Empower, Challenge and Drive – the operating manual for how we behave.
