Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Children's Social Care Specialist to join our team at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP). This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services, with a focus on safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Mentoring front-line social workers, including new and newly qualified staff, and social work students on placement;
  • Strong knowledge and application of the DfE Knowledge and Skills statements for child and family practitioners;
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;
  • A commitment to continuous professional development;
  • Ability to develop and maintain a professional network to support vulnerable children and young people;
  • Minimum of 3 years' front-line safeguarding experience.
