About the Role:

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is a committed recruitment agency with a new permanent position available for an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to work Full Time based in Cambridgeshire.

The salary for this AMHP job is up to £45,987 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct duties as an AMHP in accordance with competences, MHA code of practice, and local policies and procedures to meet the needs of individuals supported and achieve best outcomes.
  • Maintain AMHP approval, attend required training and continued professional development, providing evidence as set out in local operating procedures.
  • Participate actively in the continued development of the service, including quality assurance, supervision, and practice education for AMHP trainees.
  • Provide written and verbal reports suitable for courts and other legal purposes, concise, informative, and based on complex evidence to support problem solving and resolution.
  • Evaluate and balance risk and protective factors within a safeguarding framework.
  • Demonstrate person-centred skills relating to safeguarding children and adults, self-neglect, mental capacity, and mental ill health.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external colleagues, particularly police, health, and voluntary sectors.
  • Represent Cambridgeshire County Council in multi-agency networks, working jointly with them in assessing, planning, and implementing integrated care to promote independence and choice.
  • Stay updated on knowledge regarding MHA, social policy, and AMHP practice; be fully informed of organisational policy and procedures and relevant legislation, acting as a resource for the team and helping to develop others.
  • Promote and develop service user empowerment and recognise diversity and anti-discriminatory practice in all professional practice in the team.
  • Take responsibility for own professional development and record CPD.

Requirements:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
