Approved Mental Health Professional Lead

Role Summary:
Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our team. The successful candidate will work Full Time based in Cambridgeshire and be responsible for carrying out AMHP duties in line with competences, MHA code of practice, and local policies and procedures.
Key Tasks:
- Carry out the duties of an AMHP, ensuring individual needs are met and best outcomes achieved.
- Maintain AMHP approval by attending required training and continuing professional development, providing evidence as set out in local operating procedures.
- Participate in the continued development of the service, including quality assurance, supervision, and practice education for AMHP trainees.
- Prepare written and verbal reports suitable for courts and other legal purposes, concise and informative based on complex evidence to support problem-solving and resolution.
- Assess and balance risk and protective factors within a safeguarding framework.
- Demonstrate person-centred skills relating to safeguarding children and adults, self-neglect, mental capacity, and mental ill health.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external colleagues, especially the police, health, and voluntary sectors.
- Represent Cambridgeshire County Council in multi-agency networks, working collaboratively to assess, plan, and implement integrated care promoting independence and choice.
- Stay up-to-date with MHA, social policy, and AMHP practice, being well-informed of organisational policy and procedures and relevant legislation, acting as a resource for the team and supporting their development.
- Lead the way in promoting and developing service user empowerment and recognising diversity and anti-discriminatory practice in all professional practice in the team.
- Take ownership of personal professional development and recording Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
