Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Grief and Trauma Counsellor Specialist to join our dedicated team at the National Bereavement Alliance. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering our bereavement counselling services to families across the UK.

About the Role

This position involves working directly with clients who have experienced the loss of a loved one. You will utilise your expertise to create a safe and supportive environment, empowering individuals to navigate their grief journey.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and group bereavement counselling sessions.
  • Developing and implementing effective support plans in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Participating in regular case reviews and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Counselling or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with complex trauma cases.
  • An excellent understanding of attachment theory and its application in bereavement support.
What We Offer

We provide a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • £30,419 – £32,418 per annum (full-time equivalent).
  • Pension scheme.
  • Generous annual leave allowance: 35 days pro rata, including statutory bank holidays.
