Senior Peer Support Group Coordinator

At Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW, we are committed to providing a supportive environment for individuals living with dementia and their families. As a Senior Peer Support Group Coordinator, you will play a vital role in leading and coordinating our weekly Support & Social Group, ensuring the smooth running of the Group and maintaining accurate records of Group attendances. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual with experience working within a group, ideally in being a group leader and organizing events and activities. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage teams effectively, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work as part of a team within the group you lead and with internal and external contacts.

Duties
  1. Coordinate our weekly Support & Social Group.
  2. Lead and supervise a team of volunteers, ensuring the smooth running of the Group.
  3. Organize outings, Christmas Party, Christmas Carols, and other events and activities as required.
  4. Maintain accurate records of Group attendances.
  5. Assist with form filling to help people claim relevant benefits.
  6. Post on our Socials to raise awareness of our Groups and services.
  7. Update our CRM database and complete all relevant paperwork.
  8. Get involved in fundraising events and campaigns to help raise funds to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Charity.

Requirements

  • Must have use of own car to transport equipment to/from the Group each week.
  • Must be physically able to set up/take down tables and chairs at each group session and carry equipment from car to venue.
  • Be happy to store equipment at home (art & craft trolley, refreshments, activity materials).
