Job Title: Peer Mentor Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Peer Mentor Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining systems to provide a comprehensive Peer Mentoring service in the local area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, assess, and train new Peer Mentors across the region.
  • Manage and supervise Peer Mentors, including wellbeing support, coaching, and development work to improve Peer Mentor skills and capability.
  • Support the establishment of a Development and Progression Pathway for all Peer Mentors.
  • Work with Peer Mentors and colleagues to develop, review, and harmonize the Peer Mentoring arrangements across the region.
  • Deliver Peer Mentor-led activities in various group-based settings, including probation offices, approved premises, community payback inductions, and external providers of women's services.
  • Identify further opportunities for the involvement of Peer Mentors.
  • Liaise with Commissioned Rehabilitative Service Providers to identify opportunities for Peer Mentor involvement and employment.
  • Support the regional Engaging People on Probation (EPOP) Plan, including maximizing opportunities to capture People on Probation (PoP) insights.
  • Manage and maintain systems to provide a comprehensive Peer Mentoring service in the local area.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of the regional Peer Mentoring Delivery Plan.
  • Attend Team Meetings with regional counterparts.
  • Contribute to the development of the national Peer Mentoring picture as required.
  • Champion the value of Peer Mentors and of the Engaging PoP agenda to colleagues and partners.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. They will also have a keen understanding of risk and operational issues, as well as the ability to manage and maintain systems to provide a comprehensive Peer Mentoring service.
