Basingstoke, Hampshire, United Kingdom Home Group Full time

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Practical Maintenance Support Professional to join our Hampshire North team at Home Group.

As a key member of our multi-skilled team, you will provide hands-on practical support to colleagues in delivering services to our customers. Our customers face various challenges, including mental health, learning disabilities, ex-offenders, and substance misuse, which requires a comprehensive approach to support them in their properties and grounds.

The role involves a range of tasks, including minor or emergency repairs, decoration, and maintenance activities such as hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, painting, plumbing, and unblocking sinks. You will work closely with colleagues and customers throughout the day, liaising with our housing management coordinator to report any issues outside your remit.

If you enjoy building flat pack furniture, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your skills. As a Handy Person, you will have the chance to make a positive impact on our customers' lives, working for an organization recognized as one of the top ten Great Places to Work in the UK.

To succeed in this role, you should be a team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm. You will need to possess general maintenance skills, including carpentry, basic plumbing, and the ability to use technology for training and administrative tasks. A clean driving license is essential, as you will be provided with a van and fuel card.

As a Practical Maintenance Support Professional, you will work from our service in Basingstoke, traveling around properties in our geographical patch, primarily in Basingstoke and Farnborough. Occasionally, you may travel outside this area to work on new properties or during all-hands-on-deck situations.

You will require a Standard DBS check, which we will cover the costs for.

At Home Group, we value diversity and inclusion, providing a welcoming environment where colleagues can be themselves. Our internal diversity networks, peer groups, and allies support our commitment to creating a great place to work.

In return for your hard work, you can expect a competitive salary of approximately £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on your experience. Additionally, you will receive 34 days leave pro rata (increasing to 39), along with the option to buy additional leave and time off for volunteering. Our benefits package includes a health cash plan, saving you up to £1,140 per annum, over 800 high street discounts, and opportunities for career growth within the company.
