Senior Mental Health Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Consultant Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team at HMP Thameside, a category B resettlement prison in the South-East London area. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional mental health care to patients aged 17 and above.
About the Role:
- Work closely with a fully staffed and well-established mental health team, spending approximately 70% of your time patient-facing.
- Conduct risk assessments, review referrals, and determine appropriate treatment plans as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments, providing clinical supervision and actively participating in the strategic direction of the mental health service.

Requirements:
- Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983.
- Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation.
