The Chief Inspector will be responsible for leading a team of inspectors and supporting the development of a new inspection framework that prioritizes the needs of children and young people. They will work closely with the Scottish Government, education authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure that the inspectorate is effective in promoting improvement and excellence in education.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and experience in education inspection, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the Scottish education system and the challenges facing schools and education settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a new independent education inspectorate in Scotland
  • Design and implement a new inspection framework that prioritizes the needs of children and young people
