Lead Social Worker - Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children's Service

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Social Worker to join our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children's Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a diverse and supportive team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants in providing a high-quality initial assessment service for newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants in providing a high-quality initial assessment service for newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to ensure the voice of the child is heard and their needs are met.
  • Work closely with senior managers, KCC colleagues, and partners to deliver and improve services for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent and nationally.
  • Champion social care values and deliver high-quality services for children and young people.
  • Supervise and develop the skills of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants to ensure they can meet complex and changing demands of the service.

Our Offer:

  • Competitive basic salary between £50,239 and £58,491 dependant on experience, with the potential to earn up to £66,491 per year when market premiums are applied.
