Job Title: Team Manager – Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children's Service

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to lead our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children's Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and supportive team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants, providing a high-quality initial assessment service with a clear focus on protection and safeguarding.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing excellent care and support to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. You will work closely with senior managers, KCC colleagues, and partners to deliver and improve services for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent and nationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants in providing a high-quality initial assessment service
  • Develop and implement effective safeguarding procedures and policies
  • Work closely with senior managers, KCC colleagues, and partners to deliver and improve services
  • Provide high-quality caseload supervision and support to team members
  • Contribute to practice and policy development in the field of social work and safeguarding
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A social work degree (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent) and professional registration as a social worker with Social Work England
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in social work, including supervision, budget management, and joint working with partners
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, legislative frameworks, and social work theories relating to child services
What We Offer

We offer a competitive basic salary between £50,239 and £58,491, dependant on your experience, and the potential to earn up to £66,491 per year when market premiums are applied. You will also receive a range of benefits, including:
