Job Summary

This exciting opportunity involves working as a Clinical Review Panel Member, attending hearings and reviewing detention/community treatment orders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that reviews are undertaken in accordance with the MHA 1983 (amended 2007) and Code of Practice.

Main Responsibilities

  • Attend hearings as a panel member and review detention/community treatment orders.
  • Scrutinise, interpret and challenge complex information presented orally and in written report format.
  • Develop relevant knowledge and understanding and support the function undertaken on behalf of the Hospital Managers.
  • Provide feedback and report any issues of concern to the Hospital Manager, Mental Health Act Office, and Chair of the Hospital Managers Hearing Panel.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in mental health care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good computer skills and access to PC.
  • Demonstrate some knowledge and awareness of legislation associated with the MHA 1983.
