Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Anatomical Pathology Technician to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mortuary services and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum

About the Role

The Anatomical Pathology Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to the mortuary manager and assisting with post-mortem examinations. This will involve working closely with consultant pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that high-quality results are achieved.

The successful candidate will also be required to maintain accurate records, adhere to health and safety protocols, and provide training and guidance to junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with post-mortem examinations and prepare specimens for examination
  • Provide technical support to the mortuary manager and assist with quality control processes
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on mortuary activities
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols and guidelines
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff members
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications in anatomical pathology technology or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mortuary procedures and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
