The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Mortuary Specialist to join our team. As an Anatomical Pathology Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to the mortuary manager and ensuring a high-quality service.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position with an estimated salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have access to a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements and opportunities for professional development.
Key Responsibilities- To work between all mortuaries in the network as requested by senior staff, utilizing effective communication skills to ensure seamless coordination.
- To carry out routine work in all sections of the Mortuary as required by the mortuary manager and the senior mortuary technologists, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Pathology Quality Policy.
- To assist the Consultant Pathologists in Post Mortem work, including the preparation of the deceased, examination of the deceased, re-construction of the deceased, and disinfection of the post-mortem room facilities, maintaining a high level of professionalism and respect for the deceased.
- A Level 3 Diploma qualification in Anatomical Pathology Technology or equivalent.
- Familiarity with current mortuary practices and the legal requirements of the service.
- Experience of working as a team and training others in practical aspects of the work.
- Sound education including English language and a full driving license with access to a private motor vehicle.
