Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Anatomical Pathology Technician to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mortuary services and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum

About the Role

The Anatomical Pathology Technician will be responsible for supporting the mortuary manager and assisting with post-mortem examinations. This will involve working closely with consultant pathologists and other healthcare professionals to achieve high-quality results.

The successful candidate will also be required to maintain accurate records, follow health and safety protocols, and provide guidance to junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with post-mortem examinations and prepare specimens for examination
  2. Support the mortuary manager in maintaining quality control processes
  3. Maintain accurate records and reports on mortuary activities
  4. FOLLOW HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
  5. Guide junior staff members in their roles and responsibilities
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications in anatomical pathology technology or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mortuary procedures and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
