Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Home Operations Manager to join our team at YourCareer-Recruitment Limited. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to lead and manage a residential children's home, providing exceptional care and support to young people.

About the Role

As a Children's Home Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring that all aspects of care and management meet the highest standards. You will work closely with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and other staff members to achieve this goal.

  • Manage and supervise staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and training to deliver high-quality care and support.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as social services and healthcare providers, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Registered Manager in implementing the Statement of Purpose and achieving its objectives.
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
  • Supervising and supporting staff to ensure they meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Undertaking direct work with children and young people as appropriate.
  • Managing child protection concerns and complaints.
  • Working in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
  • Offering supervision and support to other staff in line with Quality Standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience working with young people in a residential setting.
  • Experience working with Emotional Behaviour Disorder (EBD).
  • A supportive nature towards young people and staff.
  • An uncompromising stance against poor practices.
  • Organisational skills.
  • The ability to work with and manage a team, as well as elicit the best performance from the team.
  • Creative thinking.
  • Counselling skills or training skills.
  • Recruitment experience.
  • Secondary education with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to complete Diploma L5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.
