Job Title: Senior Children's Home Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Children's Home Manager to lead our Children's Home in Herne Bay, Kent. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a team and ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Children's Home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for our residents.
- Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to provide the best possible care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the Children's Home.
- Work closely with external agencies, including Ofsted and local authorities, to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Monitor and review the work practices of staff, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety Act 1974.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years' experience in operational/management & service at a children's residential setting.
- Experience of working with children with EBD in a residential setting.
- Experience of facilitating, organising and directing & developing teams.
- Experience of using childcare Standards & best practice model to guide decision making.
- Knowledge of Management theories.
- Management Qualifications.
- Management training & experience.
- Child related/Social care qualifications.
- Knowledge of Equal opportunities & diversity models.
- Up to date knowledge of Childcare & Child Protection Laws.
- Basic knowledge of IT.
- NVQ 5 Leadership and management.
- Full knowledge of OFSTED requirements.
- Satisfactory DBS check.
