About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at a Residential Children's Home. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining supervision and care of children and will be responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day functions within the home.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain supervision and care of children
  • Plan and manage day-to-day functions within the home
  • Support and manage staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children
  • Undertake direct work with children as appropriate
  • Manage child protection concerns and complaints
  • Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in management with young people in a residential setting
  • A supportive nature towards the young people and staff
  • Creative person
  • Counselling skills/Training skills
  • Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care
  • Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation
  • Team-building skills
  • Supervision skills
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour
