Job Description

We are seeking a highly ambitious and commercially-minded individual to join our team at Hitachi Solutions. As a Business Development Director, you will play a key role in driving the growth of our public sector business, leveraging your expertise in digital transformation and cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders in local government, blue-light, health, and housing organizations.
  • Support customers in digitally transforming their services, including cloud adoption, target operating model development, and digital by design.
  • Guide customers through complex technology decision-making processes and help them realize the benefits of transformation.
  • Identify and develop new business leads and opportunities, as well as grow existing leads.
  • Be responsible for accounts, articulating a clear vision and achievable goals, and supporting Hitachi's teams in developing and iterating products, strategies, and roadmaps.
  • Lead engagements with customers and stakeholders, representing Hitachi Solutions in various public forums.
  • Stay up-to-date with the changing digital and technology landscape, identifying opportunities to improve public service delivery in the UK.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and service delivery managers, learning and improving both personally and for the organization's benefit.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, explaining complex concepts in clear and compelling ways.

Requirements

  • Relevant industry experience in business development, public sector digital transformation, and the technology sector.
  • Experience in pre-sales and sales, working closely with delivery and consulting teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and managing public sector tenders and framework bids.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives in both Hitachi and client organizations.
  • High-level understanding of modern technologies used in cloud-based software products, with the ability to explain their purpose and constraints to non-technical individuals.
  • Commercial awareness and a strong understanding of the public sector market.
