Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and work closely with the pharmacy stores team to ensure accurate and efficient receipt of medicines.
  • Carry out routine tasks including stock top-ups, supply and distribution to wards and departments in accordance with policies and procedures under supervision of technicians and pharmacists.
  • Undertake Pharmacy Assistant duties as required to meet the needs of the service.
  • Assist technical and professional staff in undertaking audit and review of systems.
  • Participate in training new assistants and students.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital or community pharmacy.
  • Knowledge and experience of Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of working with the public.
  • Qualifications: NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services (or Equivalent) as recognized by the GPHC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
  • Good computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
