About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in the dispensing and distribution of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and work closely with the pharmacy stores team to ensure accurate and efficient receipt of medicines.
- Carry out routine tasks including stock top-ups, supply and distribution to wards and departments in accordance with policies and procedures under supervision of technicians and pharmacists.
- Undertake Pharmacy Assistant duties as required to meet the needs of the service.
- Undertake related filing.
- Assist technical and professional staff in undertaking audit and review of systems.
- Participate in training new assistants and students.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital or community pharmacy.
- NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) as recognized by the GPhC.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and take instructions from more senior members of staff.
- Ability to keep accurate records and use initiative to problem solve.
