As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department, working closely with our pharmacy team to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and work closely with the pharmacy stores team to ensure accurate and efficient receipt of medicines.
- Carry out routine tasks including stock top-ups, supply and distribution to wards and departments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Undertake Pharmacy Assistant duties as required to meet the needs of the service.
- Assist technical and professional staff in undertaking audit and review of systems.
- Participate in training new assistants and students.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of working in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital or community pharmacy.
- Knowledge and experience of Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of working with the public.
- NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) as recognized by the GPHC.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
