Job Description

The School Mental Health Specialist will work closely with education professionals to provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems. This role requires strong assessment and intervention skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

About the Service

The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) provides a comprehensive mental health service to children and young people in education settings. As a School Mental Health Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based interventions and supporting schools to develop their whole-school approach to mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education settings
  • Support schools to develop their whole-school approach to mental health
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide a comprehensive mental health service
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification or degree-level mental health nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or equivalent substantial experience. Registration with a relevant professional body is also essential.

Salary and Benefits

We are offering a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for career development.
