Job Summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to provide support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in schools across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health support to children with SEMH needs, working closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Work with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex learning disabilities, and those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing tailored support to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the local authority and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Use effective behavior management techniques to create a positive and supportive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to supporting children with SEMH needs.

  • A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
