Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives? We are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education, a leading education recruitment specialist in the North-East.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment and develop their skills in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN diagnoses, including Autism, Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) issues, various Learning Difficulties, and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the classroom, providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN.
  • Behaviour Management: Monitor and manage student behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Student Engagement: Engage and motivate students in their learning journey, encouraging participation and progress.
Requirements

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) (preferred).
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and support staff.
  • Are passionate about education and creating a supportive learning environment.
  • Can effectively engage and motivate students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Have the ability to manage classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
