Life Skills Trainer

At Communitas, Inc., we are dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. As a Day Program Skills Instructor, you will play a vital role in our mission by teaching adaptive daily living skills and enhancing work skills through classroom and community services.
Estimated Salary: $18 per hour
The position is full-time, Monday - Friday (8am-4pm), with part-time schedules available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate creative curriculum to teach new skills, incorporating personal interests in art, music, cooking, and health & fitness.
- Mentor individuals, assess needs, and create Individual Support Plans (ISP) to enhance independence.
- Plan and oversee community-based activities, promoting socialization and skill development.
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals, consistent with their needs and goals.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- A passion for supporting individuals with disabilities is essential.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
- Must pass company background and reference checks.
