We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team of professionals working with children and young people in Waltham Forest, London.
Key Job Duties- Contribute to planning and co-ordinating service delivery for children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.
- Develop and implement effective interventions to equip children and young people to develop independence and self-management.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to provide a comprehensive service to children and young people and their families/carers.
- Participate in the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the training and development of junior colleagues, peers and students.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- At least 3 years of paediatric experience, including advice, training and support of more junior staff, students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practice, evidence base in paediatric OT, advanced knowledge of childhood occupations, development and impact of conditions on these, and knowledge of working in occupational frame of reference.
- Excellent communication skills, splinting experience, ability to carry out complex assessments on a range of children, and excellent time management and organisational skills.
