Job Title: Childcare Kitchen Specialist

Banana Moon Day Nurseries is seeking a childcare kitchen specialist to join our team. As a childcare kitchen specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our young children. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar cooking role, ideally within a nursery or care home setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs of young children, incorporating fresh ingredients and creative presentation.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring all meals are prepared and served safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with nursery staff to provide educational cooking experiences for children, promoting healthy eating habits and culinary skills.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar cooking role, ideally within a nursery or care home setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and appealing to young children, with excellent organizational skills to manage the kitchen efficiently.
  • Creative and adaptable to accommodate different dietary needs and preferences.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is £22,000 - £26,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for career development and professional growth.
