Job Overview

A key role within the school, the Education Welfare Officer will lead the attendance strategy to ensure students attend regularly and have the best chance of academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the attendance strategy to address absenteeism
  • Ensure legal compliance and engage with parents, carers, and relevant agencies
  • Maximise student attendance through early intervention and supportive measures
Requirements
  • Experience in leading a team and improving attendance in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate effectively to young people
  • Commitment to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people
Benefits
  • Possibility of all-year-round or term-time-only contract
  • 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 3:45pm
  • Salary range £33,366 - £37,938 (all year round) or £28,805 - £32,752 (term time only)

The successful candidate will be committed to the vision and values of the school, demonstrating these at all times within their role. This is a permanent appointment subject to a 12-month probationary period.
